Training routes
There are a variety of routes you can take towards the EASA Pt 66 licence and professional engineer status.
- The course is approved by the CAA under City Of Bristol College's
exposition and successful students will gain the EASA Pt 66 Basic Training Certificate,
which qualifies them academically for the EASA Pt 66 B1 Licence.
It also provides them with the practical and theoretical knowledge to
get work in the industry. They have the
opportunity to gain a Foundation Degree in Aircraft Engineering.
After 2 years working for a EASA Pt 147 Approved company they can apply for
the EASA Pt 66 B1-Licence from the CAA. The
course is taught at the Newcastle Aviation Academy.
- Access courses are taught at Newcastle College to prepare you for
the Foundation Degree in Aircraft Engineering and working in an aircraft
engineering environment. The entry requirements make these courses highly
accessible.
- Following the foundation degree, you can work with a EASA Pt 147-approved
company and apply for your B1-Licence; or you can take the Beng(Hons)
Aircraft Engineering 'top-up' degree, which gives you professional engineer
status and the skills and training you need to apply for your EASA Pt 66
C-Licence.
