Newcastle College - site and facilities

Newcastle College runs a series of access courses which can lead to the Foundation Degree in Aircraft Engineering.

Based in the city centre, it’s the largest college in the North East, with over 30,000 students. Students are taught at the College’s Centre for Engineering, which is equipped with everything you need for practical, relevant training. This includes:

  • state-of-the-art design software and robotics equipment;
  • programmable logic controller suite;
  • laboratories for testing analogue and digital circuits;
  • power systems laboratory;
  • instrumentation and control laboratory;
  • mechanical science laboratory;
  • engineering workshops for milling, turning and shaping metal.

Campus-wide facilities include four libraries that hold over 125,000 books, periodicals, audio-visual materials, CD-ROMs, and PCs with Internet access.

The College also has a shop, cafés, a sports centre with a variety of clubs and classes, and an art gallery.
