Foundation Degree & EASA Pt 66 Course in Aircraft Engineering (FDEng)
This two-year vocational programme is the only degree course in Europe
that helps students work towards the EASA Pt 66 aircraft engineering licence and professional
engineer status. The course starts every September and it is
intended to start an additional new course on 7th February 2005 (subject
to validation).
- On successful completion of the course you will be ready to work
on aircraft, and after two years you will be eligible to apply for the
EASA Pt 66 B1-Licence. This is a prerequisite needed before you will be
allowed to sign off aircraft for flight following line-rectification
and maintenance tasks.
- Studying on the degree course is a fast route towards gaining your
Licence. Without the CAA Approved EASA Pt 66 Course, earning the Licence can take years longer
and cost you thousands more in tuition fees. On successful completion
of the course, you’ll have the option of taking on employment
whilst studying part time for a BEng(Hons)
in Aircraft Engineering, which will give you professional status.
- When you have gained the EASA Pt 66 B1-Licence, a further three years’
experience can lead to the EASA Pt 66 C-Licence - the most advanced qualification.
With this you will be able to release an aircraft for flight after full
base maintenance.
